Bhutan emerging as a centre for trafficking

source: google
With development at hand the frequent human trafficking; flesh trading, kidnappings and child laborers are becoming a national concern and to many it had created a sense of impending doom simply.

Our country had already became over exposed to ill-minded dealers around because government of the day is not looking into this matters seriously.  I could see there are still huge lapses un-turned, which need to be address soon else we're heading into more vulnerable state.

With increasing population we're heading into more delicate society, it is a sign of harmony being slowing disappearing from human mind. This kind of battle has been going on around for unknown generation and it would continue if we do not work for it now. Moreover, it also has more impact than a war, crisis and nuclear weapons as it keeps behind ill-waves in human minds.

The country's development and unlawful activity are like double salts, it never works independently.  But, does it mean that everyone has to experience this sufferings and the pain?

What we've seen today is not as what we've stated decade before as a promise land, as a safe and a happy nation. Nevertheless, looking at the present scenario and the threatening interceptions we're pushing into more danger and extremely vulnerable society for 'a small Country' like ours.

And one is the recent abdication case which has put more fear and burdens on the people residing in southern belt. These days our own land had become 'a land of enemy'. The frequent kidnapping cases in boarder areas has really shocked our nations on, 'who is behind this activity and why is it happening again and again?

But it is happy news for Bhutan as, 'United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime' has come up with other concern agencies like Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) to strengthen the border areas with India more professionally.

As stated by 'The Times of India, Kolkota'.

The workshop on the common issues was conducted with SSB and concern officials form Bhutan at Siliguri to sensitize on human trafficking and smuggling cases across India-Bhutan boarder. They highlighted on the issues becoming more rampant with increased number of population on human trafficking across boarder areas. Many boys and girls are trafficked across Bhutan to India. The current survey also stated that, countless young girls across boarder areas were forced to work for flesh trade business.

They have also stressed on having effective interviewing skills and interrogation techniques to be in place to identify woman or child being trafficked across the border town. They've pointed out the need of passports and strengthen laws on vehicles crossing boarder areas into either country for any purposes.

Another Deadlock

Was it an accident or intentional one or under the power of drug? The God only can tell the truth behind the demise of a fifteen year old Indian student from the hand of a fifteen year old Bhutanese student studying in Darjeeling.

For our people taking away someone’s life has become a practice. Indeed, this murder case had immensely surprised me but it’s nothing new.

For this little boy what future gave him was not more than 'a criminal soul and a goofy future'. Even after rigorous analysis I wasn't convinced why it is necessary to take away someone's life. There are always better ways to solve problems.

With just around seven hundred thousand population, the place is becoming worst day by day. We can’t imagine, what future lies ahead of us as a Bhutanese today because murder, rape and robbery just are so rampant and common.

What actually is going wrong in our youth – is it the education system and the mind-set?

When 15 years old boy can do such a big crime openly we can't imagine on what future will give us the next day.

Perhaps, I wasn't surprised to see this news because when as young as few months old baby got raped, why can't this happen? I was thoughtful on why we are embossed upon crime and violence when the country is still graded as one of the least developed country, economy still in countable notes and people still in longstanding century.

Just few days back we were overwhelmed and engulfed with good news of the successful birth of our Sixth King and now we are sadden with unexpected news of '15 years old boy behind big crime' which is a national concern.

Lately, I don't wanted to become a parent for all of these reasons because one day it could be my child playing the same game. To whom shall I denounce - to culture, mindset or education system?

But, as a student to university graduate and to an educator, I know there isn't any books, any teachers, any friends and any parents who teach on criminalities. Even as a Buddhist nation it is also against our culture and daily norms yet we see increase numbers of people going for all this activity.

When I was a little boy, my grand-father used to say me many foretold augury of today and I could see every nook going the way it was stated. Although, he isn't any great personality like 'Albert Einstein', who gave the idea of 'Gravity'. But for he was as great as Einstein since he'd given me a real future.

Traffic Chaos

At a glance, Phuntsholing town seems to be one of the high end destinations cum a holiday trips for many of us.  Because, it is only the big outlet for survivals, the place that boarders with India and said to be the country's main business hub for centuries.

But, did we ever realize on the fate of a town with daily increasing population, traffic commotion, climate issues, littering and town being completely submerge in the sea of dust.

As I have seen and felt, I think the same would have been felt by others for the same poles. Although, it is a place of high end exchange centre and at the same time it need to be well taken care else I've seen 'the fate of the place is heading beyond repairs' if nobody plan at this time, the future of the country is heading towards risk zone.

I think the day of the government is a sole responsible agency to think and plan on how to solve all of these issues after all it makes a big differences for the country and its people, particularly on 'traffic jam'.

The place has indeed become sore, simply annoying as compared to past years. I've seen better Phuentsholing town before seventeen years than what I've seen today, now a day the place is full of grid-locks. Nevertheless, with the new generations even the places I've visited before is no more same and safe over time.

I think the town before and today are the two different places you and I can see, observe and feel. If we happen to get to and out-off the hustle and bustle streets, we indeed need so much of energy since the place is full of traffic jam and busy town. We only can hear and see human activity all around- the place full of dust, place full of things placed in any orders, place full of beggars to money-waalas, place full of street foods, place full of black and white faces, place full of handsome to ugly faces, place full of peeps and teets sounds and place full of litters.

If we need a change for a place it is time for us to plan well before population doubles and human wants becomes doubles.  It is also time to impose some urgent planning and some legislation in place.

I am neither an analyst nor an expert but all my concern is over pollution, traffic jam, waste disposal, drainage system and right town planning. It is very obvious that Bhutan is facing new challenges over climate change now a day.

We can get everything from the place but never a happiness that we want as a GNH based country.
