Our Three Humble Offerings

Reden's 6th Birthday Offering

It has been exactly 841 days, or 2 years, 3 months and 19 days, since we have been away from our two beloved children.

Perhaps I don't want to recall that Thursday morning of 20 April 2023, when we had to leave them still sleeping in their beds. Since then, we have been living in two different worlds, counting each day, hoping time passes quickly and our reunion happens like a magical moment.

Today, we celebrate our son’s 5th birthday — from afar, through video calls and virtual hugs.

We send him our warmest wishes and endless prayers for his good health, his happiness and a life filled with love and meaning. May all his dreams come true, and may he always be guided by kindness and strength.

To honour his 5th birthday, we offer three simple, symbolic gifts;

A "Butter Lamp" ( in the hope that he will one day shine light upon the world with his goodness, warmth and wisdom.

A "Bhutanese Incense Stick" (wishing that he may carry the fragrance from the Himalayas within him, spreading love and calm wherever he goes).

A "Red Daisy" (hoping he will be admired not only for his appearance but for his kind heart and that he may be loved by all for who he truly is)

With these humble offerings, we don't just wish him good health but also we wish him to grow into a compassionate, intelligent and humble human being, who will one day serve his country with highest integrity, pure passion and utmost loyalty.

Celebrating My Girl's Birthday Through Video Calls, Thanks to the Magic of the Internet

👯👯

Time flies so fast —it's hard to believe it's been already two years since we last held our beloved kids. So much has happened, some moments were beautiful and others unforgettable, but the hardest part has been missing them every single day. Some days, it felt almost unbearable to exist on the other side of the world just missing them, too much —their absence was felt so deep.

There were some moments that knocked so hard, pierced my heart  so deeply, and the world had just collapsed over my chest and emotions ran over the sky. And it was this moment I felt real pain in my heart. (All the whats and hows👀👀👯👯)

Birthdays are incredibly special, both for parents and children. They are a time to connect, share love, impart values, and strengthen family bonds.

For my daughter’s 8th birthday, we celebrated through video calls. Thanks to the internet and modern technology, we were able to make the moment feel real and unforgettable, even from miles away.

Being away from kids is never easy—ne'er!!!

We have already missed many precious moments like smell, cuteness, milestones, and emotional growth. But no matter the distance, we make sure they are well taken care.

As a parent, I have often thought, I wouldn’t mind begging on the streets, or stealing if it meant providing happiness for my kids. This thought is so genuine, yet it reflects the universal truth of parenthood—even the dumbest animals go to great lengths to care for their young ones.

In this long journey, there are a few people who have made it possible is my brother, my in-law and my mom. They have ensured that our children are well looked-after and for that, we are eternally grateful.

As we celebrate my daughter’s 8th birthday, I wish her continued good health, prosperity, and happiness.

May she grow into a kind, caring, and compassionate person who helps others and becomes a beacon of light for her family and country.

May she serve her King, Country, and People with the utmost loyalty, dedication, and highest INTEGRITY.

Reden's 4th Birthday

Dear Reden,

Four years ago, on August 8, 2020, you came into our lives, completing our family of four. That day, you became a cherished part of our happy family. Your sister Yesha was overjoyed to see your face when we returned from the hospital (JDWNRH). I am deeply grateful to your mom, my life partner, for carrying you for nine months, nurturing you with love and care, and enduring so much pain and hardship to bring you into this world. We will always treasure the moment you joined us.

August 8, 2020, was during the first nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. Despite the many strict lockdown protocols, the joy of your safe arrival made everything easier. For so many reasons, August 8 will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I just wanted to share a few thoughts about how we are feeling being away from you and Yesha. It was never our intention to be away from you two for such an extended period. As much as you both feel our absence, we are enduring an even greater pain, thinking of you and Yesha every day, wondering how you are spending your time with your grandparents, Deewa, Demma, Rewang, and Reba. But we find comfort knowing you are absolutely in a safe hand, well cared for. Someday, when you know, you should make a point to thank all your (all) homies.

We understand what it means to be away from home, especially from you two. Words cannot fully express our feelings. the emptiness is so much. Your mom and I have arranged a simple celebration with your cousins, homies, and grandparents. Know that we are always with you in spirit, supporting you in every moment of your life.

A simple birthday cake, in your favorite Spider-Man colors, is ready, along with a colorful suit for you and Rewang to wear as your cousins and homies sing you a happy birthday. Think that we're by your side, singing along with them.

Enjoy the evening with the cake you love, the colorful Hulk suit (matching with Rewang), some candies, your favorite juice, and a simple dinner to make you happy. We hope you grow into a good human being with love for your family, relatives, community, and country.

Your mom and I have offered a butter lamp and a special flower in your honor here. We wish you a very happy birthday. May all your wishes come true!

Sincerely

Your Dad and Mom

Yesha's Seven Birthday

To Yesha, Our Deepest Prayers and wishes

To Yesha, May you spread beauty to the world

This are the flowers and special butter lamp, we offered to

                                   God to safeguard you.

May you continue to spread the love, and beauty to the world.

To Yesha,

Every day without you feels so void, and today we feel even more missing of you. We feel so sorry for not being able to attend your special day. However, we've arranged a small but meaningful celebration for you. Your Duema and Dewa, will replace us unconditionally and hoping it brings you joy and a sense of our presence.

We love you so much!

As you turn seven today, it's an important occasion, reminding us of the immense happiness you brought into our lives seven years ago. Every March 18th is cherished, evoking the beautiful memory of holding you in our arms for the first time, filling me with paternal pride.

Reflecting on that day seven years ago, as your mother endured labor pains, I stood by her side, offering solace amidst my own nervousness and anticipation.

Witnessing your arrival into the world, I gained a deeper respect for the sacrifices mothers make and I know how it feels. Amidst the flurry of emotions, I rushed to gather cakes and chocolates, overwhelmed with gratitude for the medical team's professionalism. I gifted them for helping us throughout our stay in the national hospital (JDWNRH).

On your birthday, I wish for you to grow into a thoughtful, intelligent, honest, loyal, respectful woman, adorned with a good sense of humor, embodying the virtues we hold dear.

We would like you to be a careful and caring person. For you, I have sent a special message to God to help you in every step you take in life.

May you grow into someone who embodies the utmost integrity and professionalism in your career. May you lead by example, lighting the way for your team and your family. May you reach for the stars and spread everlasting love throughout the universe. May all your hopes and ambitions be realized. And may you serve TSA-WA-SUM (King, Country, and People) with unwavering honesty and dedication.

Happy Birthday Baby Yesha from your papa and mummy.

We love you so much!

My Sweet Little Girl

YESHA THE BOSS!

You wake up in a dancing mood. Then you run and dance with all your energy. There wasn't a single day you got silence. Though you are merrily funny and nagging but always worth being by your side. I am growing older by your side and everyday is a new beginning. You make me wiser and cool.

We fight over breakfast –You always have a wrong demand. The food item that wasn't in the store becomes your menu. Banana when we forget to buy, broccoli when it wasn't the season, burger when lettuce was lost to frost, brown marry biscuits when it was hidden by the rat, milk when the cow wasn't on the mood, munch when you lost all your teeth, and watermelon when your aunt was running behind the cart.

We fight over the dress –I choose white shirt and black pants. You go for the pink and purple dresses. I choose purple and pink; you go for brown and white. I choose brown and white; you go for mixed with green. I choose green and white; you turn back to frocks and heels. On average it takes some time just to decide what to wear. Luckily we don’t have to board the plane and cross the heavy traffic; otherwise I would have been rusticated long before you found me. And the battle was for so long now. I just wish you turned big soon.

We fight over the dinner –Pasta on the table, you drop down and demand spicy curry and rice. After a rush of preparation, you turn down rice and egg. Again after a quick jump over your demand, you loop out for noodles… our story never ends in harmony.

When I cannot fulfill your unending demand, you lashes me with all your anger, the heavy punches and screams. Thank God our neighbors were all dumb and asleep. Thank God I am iron made to receive your Sholay punch. Sometime I doubt you may be the reincarnation of a great Muhammad Ali, or the Bruce Lee.

Because I'm afraid of your flying kick and sharp claw flapping over my barren head!

Your afraid

Dad

The Lucky Friday

If not for all, the first Friday of August 2020 would simply remain as one of the important dates for me. Two very important things have occurred on this day –the successful birth of my second baby and the Champions League success at Etihad Stadium.

The long awaited birth of my second baby happened on this day at 10:08PM inside #Delivery Room 5 of the Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Birthing Center at JDWNRH. I would like to thank all the on-duty Nurses for helping out on the successful birth of my HE Baby, wet cleaner for making sure that the rooms are clean and dustless and security guard for maintaining good professional ethics.

It was already 12:12AM, when I rushed back home to put my 3 years old SHE Baby to sleep. Although she doesn’t need us more during the day, however, she needs us in the night. We didn’t leave her alone so far despite so many tough situations. This is the time she needs our utmost love and care that is why for some more years, I have happily dumped my Australian dream. Happiness is when you are surrounded by a beautiful family. As a responsible father, I don’t want to seemingly trouble my growing babies. I don’t want them to get isolated from emotional connection when they needed the most. Also I don’t want them to grow up with the money mentality, or everything is money.

After a quick dinner, I quickly fastened her bed so that she could rest after a long day jumping and running. As I prepared her bed, I put on the tv, searched for the Champions League match day LIVE stream program so that I can do two things together. She didn’t require any explanation or support like other days to sleep. She slept on my left and I continued the long awaited football match of Manchester City. It was an easy win for City boys as they already had advantage of two away goals at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Sterling 9’ goals and Jesus 68’ goals have sealed their victory. They will face Olympique Lyon on 16 August in Lisbon, Portugal. It is in their fate, either of them would face Barcelona or Bayern for the semi-final. However, one lucky team will lift the most desired UEFA Football cup of the 2019/2020 seasons. All the 8 teams, who have reached to quarterfinals, have the chances for the cup. My wild guess is for the City or Barcelona, however, it all depends upon their luck and the chances they create on the pitch. Football is a team game and needs a lot of energy.

As expected, my wife gave birth to a baby boy and the Etihad success has wrapped my day ever joyfully and happily.
