Samyae Resort and I

Samyae Resort is a few minutes’ drive from Chamkhar town towards Trongsa highway. It lies just above the road after passing the current fuel depot. It is beautifully built in outmost Bhutanese style and architect.

I had few hiccups when I heard the charge for the room. It mentally burned me. But, I did not hesitate to put up myself. Since, it was my first chance to be in such a big–budget place.

Do I have all the money and power to live in a resort meant for foreigners were some questions that passed cold through my spine? However, I have controlled my emotion.

Indeed, it was my first time walking in such an expensive lane, equivalent to someone who can pay in dollars. Perhaps, before entering into the rooms, I have built all my courage to walk in like foreigners.  I have pretended as if I am used to living in a resort, and have walked thousand times in a such lavish room. For few days, I have all the courage tell my friends that I live in a resort.

My legs have shivered and my voice have stammered when the resort receptionist asked, 'sirs and madams which room would you all like to occupy'. Any room was my curt reply.

I have sincerely requested the reception officer to give us the rooms that can give the dazzling view of Chamkhar town. I and my friend have got room number #408. Thank god! This room gave the best view not only of Chamkhar town but also of the whole valley. I took few images of the valley through the room.

I was amazed by the 'welcome' foot mat. I was stunned by the cleanliness and the arrangement of the room. I wish every hotel in the town have the same luxury. Every time I look for a hotel rooms, I am more concern about the safe and clean toilet. However, Samyae resort have the best toilet with running water facilities. Soap and toilet paper were also in place for use. I thank for the good housekeeping and good management.

For few days, I can eat like a superstar. I can sleep like a superstar. I can act like a superstar. I can talk like a VIP to any foreigners without hesitation because I too share the same building.

Cleaning, washing and arranging things have become a daily routine in the room. I also used to perfume myself before touching the pillow. I became more discipline and humble by the cleanliness of the room.

Perhaps, it may be my last chance but it is not my last breath.

Goodbye Beloved Teachers

When life has thousands reasons to walk and live, I've thousands different ways to spend my coming holidays. So, does you all my ‘teacher-colleagues’ I've been working so hard for nearly, 280 days round the clock in, educating different lives with different wants, likes and ages. Honestly, I've been so busy and fully occupied for countless hours of teachings, correcting exam papers, assessing note books etc… – and that is called the life of a ‘every tangible teachers’. As a teacher/educator, almost every time - life goes beyond teaching and correcting exam papers. As, we need to engage our students into various fields of learning – going for extra classes, attending club activities, prayers, co-curricular activities, literary activities, cultural programs and so on…and this is the life of each teacher behind the screen. Yet, we get lots of blame starting from the people of highest rank to the lowest. In Bhutan, now a day in the name of suicide case, educa
