The SIX Individual I Admire so Dearly

If I may ever asked to pick top people, really off the top of my head, it will be these great individuals who are not just living/ed a life for them but to the world to look up to -humble life made for the world. These figures are truly my personal favourite for so many reasons.

1. King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck (King of Bhutan)

Ever since His Majesty enthroned in as a King of Bhutan, there isn't a single day that gone by without any inspiration to do more for the country. He is the People's King! Handsome, Oxford Graduated, humble and far sighted. He is not just the leader of Bhutan, but to the world.

2. His Holiness the 14TH Dalai Lama

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is a global symbol of Tibetan culture. He is the voice of Compassion, Knowledge, Empathy, Love and Kindness.

I see His Holiness as not a religious figure but as an individual person so sweet in nature, grounded who is living as a supreme leader of millions around the world. We must learn the art of living a simple yet meaningful life.

The extraordinary life of His Holiness is so beautiful to watch and feel. To me, it always brings peace of mind and a humble life. I feel His Holiness is one of the most extraordinary people who have even lived and walked on this planet. With His openness, love and compassion for all beings. I would like to think that the world has never seen someone like this who totally embodies selflessness, love, compassion and wisdom.

As His Holiness turns 90, I wish His Holiness for his long life. May he live many more years without any illness. Even more so, His Holiness continues the institution of the Dalai Lama. I would like to believe that He belongs to the world and to this universe.

3. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong (Singapore)

Lawrence Wong is serving as the current PM of Singapore (204--). The country I admire for many great things such as democratic transition, low corruption index, education, infrastructure and urban development.

I have seen him not long ago but as soon as I saw him as the PM of Singapore, I felt so close to PM Wong for the fact that he appears calm with great personalities of a genuine human being. The Harvard Kennedy School graduate is a multi talented individual with the right skillset because in the fast changing world, we need leaders to have such genuineness and talents.

I wish Mr. Wong could lead Singapore to greatness after a great succession of great leaders like LKY and his successors. I admire these individuals for the foundation they set not just for Singaporeans but to other nations to look up to for many things.

4. Volodymyr Zelenskyy (Ukraine)

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the current President of Ukraine (2019-present). A law graduate who pursued a career in comedy and entertainment to the president who had to face the full invasion of Russia.

I admire Zelenskyy for his dedication, courage and stamina to lead his country against such strong aggression and complete dominance. This guy is a genius, a fighter and a true role model. No one would have resisted, to be like him at the cost of his own life. If I were in this place, I would have fled the country long ago. One thing I liked so much about President Zelenskyy is his Stamina. He keeps looking for opportunities and goes to the extent of begging other big nations and organizations for help to defend his country and people. This guy is a true Genius!

From day one of the war, I was closely following the story of war between Russia and Ukraine, and I never felt good for the loss of innocent lives and infrastructures which took ages to build. To come to that stage can take ages and cost more lives. I am sure millions who have invested their life savings to build their home and now into the war ashes doesn't make sense. It's a complete madness and not fair for them.

After seeing His dedication and courage, for a long time I felt He must be given a Nobel Peace Prize.

5. Frank lloyd Wright

Frank Lloyd Wright was an American Architecture, designer, writer and educator (google).

Let me share a few things why I liked this guy.

During my high school days, when I was studying Computer Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Application) I always wished to become an Urban planner but sadly it did not happen. My twist of fate was to become a classroom teacher. So, I took no other chance but to simply grasp the opportunity to become an IT and Chemistry teacher. Sadly, now I am no more in the system. However, I did an amazing job for my stay as a school teacher in two beautiful schools.

As a school teacher I got chances to try so many things, and experienced different behaviors of young diverse backgrounds of kids. Even more, I got a golden chance to be with the finest brains of the school, science students teaching them Chemistry which is overall an important and compulsory subject for science students to pass their exam.

While teaching many batches of science students in two different schools (Zhemgang CS and Damphu CS), I did a few crazy things. I tried to set a good example by being ultra punctual (going to the class and coming out of the class in a given time, with very very few exceptions of getting late for the class or leaving the class). I gave my best to role model the future generation of Bhutan.

So during decade long service, I tried to share my way of life, philosophy and my wish for the future of Bhutan. One thing that stood out so close to my heart which I couldn't become (Urban Planner), I tried sharing my dreams and wishes to my science students (potential to become Engineer) about my dream architect or the town I would like to see for us. I sometimes share how Abu Dhabi, Marina Bay Sands, Eiffel Tower, and many more were built as a world to watch and learn. I share with them why we can't blend Bhutanese and modern architecture to stand tall for the nation. I told them, I would like them to be a great designer, architect and engineer to re-engineer Bhutan's modern infrastructure age.

So, for these reasons, I admire Wright for his many iconic structures that the world has ever seen. I have watched many documentaries of how some of his iconic buildings were built, purpose, and what the world can learn from his work. One that stands out is the Fallingwater, which is breathtaking to watch. I wish someday I get to see this house in person.

I have a great love for buildings or houses built around the world. Like Wright, I wish to see some of the students whom I have taught and inspired to designed and built infrastructures of such height.

6. Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs, the founder of iPhone/Mac, a technology genius, was one of the greatest minds in the world. He created the future of technology, technology so smooth and great in design loved by everyone. Today the Apple brand has become a luxury item no one dares to lose.

He has given the world this great device that can do almost everything from touch to communication, work to play, everything can happen so magically.

My first experience of using and instantly falling in love with this device was in early 2019, when I got my first black iPhone 7.

Ever since, I became a devoted Apple user for two reasons, its simple design and smoothness. With the grace of some luck, I am using MacBook Air (2015) from 2019 and iPhone (14 Pro) from 2023. I simply love this product.

Thank you Steve Jobs, I wish you might be hearing my feelings and my words. Appreciation for your creation!

Even my mom would like to own an iPhone someday.

The Story of Malika Chand.

There lived a schoolteacher named Malika Chand. She loved teaching and treated her students as she would, her own children. Nurturing their potential with great kindness. Her perennial motto was, 'Your,  I can is more important than your,  IQ .' She was known throughout her community as a person who lived to give. Who selflessly served anyone in need? Sadly, her beloved school, which had stood as a silent witness to the delightful progress of generations of children, succumbed to the flames of a fire set by an arsonist one night. All those in the community felt this great loss. But as time passed by, their anger gave way to apathy and they resigned themselves to the fact that their children would be without a school. "What about Malika?"   "She was different, an eternal optimist if there ever was one. Unlike everyone around her, she perceived opportunity in what had happened. She told all the parents that every setback offers an equivalent benefit ...

Golden Words Of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck

King Jigme Singye Wangchuck "...in particular, speaking for myself; my sorrow in having lost my own father is indeed very great. What is more the country has lost a king whose kind has till now never been known..."                                                                ( Royal proclamation to the people of Bhutan, July 26, 1972)                                      "...as far as you, my people, are concerned, you should not adopt the attitude that whatever is required to be done for your welfare will be done entirely by the government. On the contrary, a little effort on your part will be much more effective than a great deal of eff...

My Concept Of Central School

Everyone felt happy in the beginning with the inception of central school idea and few happy moment to those who've been profited. Whereas, it was not so pleasing for some – students, teachers and parents. My concept of central school is different. Different in the sense, I want it to be a  'MODEL SCHOOL' . Why can't we merge the same idea into a 'Model School' with better policies, correct curriculum, best teachers and facilities in places? Here I'm not to aver among students but to put a sense of competition and the values of education. According to our present population and the school going child ratio it is not necessary to earn many central school in a dzongkhag. Let us plan for less, better and reliable school for sustainable Bhutan. How far shall we wait for  'DONATION'  after  'DONATION'  just to run our system of education or any other offices or are we just for donor driven system to be in place?  What if...
